1976 C-20 standard axle ratio?

I just checked my glove box sticker and there is no axle ratio listed so I assume that it is whatever was "standard" at that time.

1976 GMC C-20 350/SM465

It had 8.75x16.5 tires from the factory (not anymore!) if that makes any difference.

I'm just curious. Any of you experts know what would have been the standard rear axle ratio for this pickup ???

thanks

Re: 1976 C-20 standard axle ratio?

You are correct: if no axle is listed then that would be the base axle. Sometimes it shows RPO GQ1 "Standard axle" (but does not specify the numerical ratio).

In your case, according to the generic info packet in the GM Heritage Center archive, it would be 3.73.

Re: 1976 C-20 standard axle ratio?

Thanks!

I kind of figured it was 3.73. With the bigger tires (245/75R16) it moves out pretty good on the highway. The speedometer appears to be reading about 10% low.
