79 Blazer 2WD Frame

Im needing a frame 2WD for a frame off restoration on my Jimmy. Im told that the later models will not work due to different frame horns. Whats the situation with that and is it only related to what bumper im gonna use or what? I have a few units around here in Houston for a decent price but they are 81 and 82's.
Help
