1977 k20 lift advise
Hello everyone I have a 77 chevy k20 I'm restoring and one of the last projects I need to do is the leaf springs are shot all the way around. I'm interested in possibly doing a 2" or 2.5 lift to new springs on all 4 corners then running 255-85-16 tired on stock wheels with my new nos hub caps I bought for it. I just want it to sit a little higher than stock and hopefully improve the ride quality too if I can. There aren't too many pictures of 2 or 2.5 lifts online that I can get an idea of how it will look. Does anyone have a photo or used a small suspension lift they can share? Thanks.

This guy used 2.5" front springs and had some rear springs made.

Re: 1977 k20 lift advise
Tuff Country Easy Ride springs are the softest "of the shelve" springs you can get. So if you donīt have a huge winch bumper and heavy winch hanging off the front, visit the ORD website and just check out their 2-3" Tuff Country springs. They even sell complete kits for the front and rear.
Now for the ultimate leaf springs, ask ORD for their custom springs. They are custom made to your specs and they will be the next best thing to a full coilover suspension. But they are more expensive than of the shelve springs. Hope that helps. And while you are at it, add ORDīs HD shackles and greasable bushing kits. Makes a huge difference!

Re: 1977 k20 lift advise
Since I was getting a mixed lift (+2/+3; the step bars in the pic above are horizontal to keep someone from slipping when it's wet, but that shows you the amount of rake in the body angle), I got it from Tuff Country direct. They made up the kit for me. I also replaced the shackle bushings and the spring bushings all around (I think one bushing is pressed in on the springs when you get the; the other needs replacing).

Re: 1977 k20 lift advise
Thanks! Our car club, Cruisin' Classics in Bloomington, IN, meets at Hardee's Thursday at 5 year round. The garage queens come out for the nice weather, and us daily driver types show up with our toys regardless. Hardee's does give us a discount, so I guess you could say they did pay for the plug!
Here's another one for you. Somebody said to me "You don't drive that beautiful truck in the snow, do you?" and I'm like "No, I have a lifted 4x4 with big all-weather tires on it that I leave in the garage in the snow, and drive something lesser. Duh."
