Unhappy wing window assembly

I have replaced the rubber around the vent window on my 58. I lost the nut that goes on the bottom of the spring adjustment . Is that nut a 5/16 by 18 thread ? I replaced the rubber with the window in the door so I am working thru the small hole in the door.

Re: wing window assembly

It's 5/16 but I don't remember whether is coarse or fine thread. Go to a hardware store and get a couple of each. There's a special locking tab washer too. look in the bottom of the door and around the brace that runs fore and aft. stuff also gets stuck on top of the hinge pockets. extending magnets and good flashlights are good here.

Re: wing window assembly

I was not sure if GM was using fine threads on these old trucks way back then. I will try that and see which one runs up smoother on the threads.
