rough ride issue
Hey everyone, I have a 76 1500 that has 2"drop spindles and 2"drop springs in the front and flip kit in the rear. I didn't install any of it, it was all on the truck when I bought it.
To me the truck is a super rough ride. I think it's in the rear but I'm not sure. Should I take a leaf out of the rear or maybe even think about doing a coil over conversion? I'm not plain on doing much hauling with her but I do want a nice ride for my 2 year old son and girlfriend. Thanks for any advice as I have very little knowledge on trucks or suspension. Also if I should do the conversation please through ,e some suggestions on kits and combo packages.

Re: rough ride issue
How old are your shocks? Are you hitting the frame?

Unsure of the age. I just bought her a few months ago. Here's the driver side rear pic

Re: rough ride issue
I would put relocaters on the rear and new shocks all around. I can't tell from the pic but you might need a c notch and to cut down the front bump stops.

Re: rough ride issue
looks to me that your front shocks are too ahort you need more of action to make them work right and your rear shocks look to be laid out so they have no damping at all with them layin down they need to be up and down straight for best use

Re: rough ride issue
Ok. It is notched already. It sounds like I need to relocate the rears and replace them all. Any recommendations on relocation kits and shocks? I saw some $150 kits and $60 kits. Is there a difference? I want to get good stuff but I don't want to pay for a name.

Re: rough ride issue
When I installed a flip kit (36 years ago) it came with shock extenders that extended the shock about 3" and also slightly decreased the angle of the shock. Something like these would be cheap I would think. The picture is from that 1979 install.

Re: rough ride issue
Does it look like it has the right number of leafs in the truck for a 1/2 ton. I ask b/c my dad thinks it has 1ton suspension on it.
