Brakes advice

This is my first Chevy p/u since my '68 C10.
It's a '75 C30 Scottsdale Camper Special, 454 auto.

Brakes do not have that firm brake pedal feel. Plus there's a "whooshing" noise whenever the brakes are applied. Put a rebuilt hydro boost unit on and front brakes re-done. Could this be a power steering pump issue?
Rear drum were not touched.

Any perspectives, info or advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Brakes advice

Wooshing sounds like it's air leak, I'm not familiar with they hydroboost but I know with a booster if you hear that sound the booster is toast.
