55-59 interiors

hey y'all show me your bench seats in 55-59 trucks
one thing i have on my list is to carpet the truck and put a new cover on the bench seat. im thinking of doing a black / gray combo on the seat... and either a black or gray carpet.. to match the headliner...
have a plain black seat now..

Re: 55-59 interiors

Here's a couple of shots. I had to use an LED flashlight so the color is off, but the interior is factory light/dark grey so the seat is light grey vinyl around the base and side and dark grey cloth on the seat and back. The visors are also dark grey cloth with light grey seams. The mat is a reproduction of original and the headliner is original so it's a clean and uncluttered look.

Yes, it's an Ididit column shift tilt. It's their kit for the 55-59.
I have the CPP 400 steering box and that made this column go further down through the firewall than a stock steering box would. That would be an issue with the stock 55 and 56 steering wheel. But it works perfect with the 57-59 wheel.
An aftermarket wheel might need to have an extension.

You wont find a kit that looks like this.
It was done completely custom at my interior shop. He did the seat, visors, headliner and door pulls too.

The zippered pocket you see behind the seat hides the ECM for the TPI engine.

Interesting spot for it. Mine is above the park brake handle but I'm still utilizing the original fuse box and most of the original harness.

These trucks are crowded enough as it is especially with the Raingear wipers and Vintage Air AC.
I had to extend the wires in the TPI harness to do this. Some extra hours but well worth it.

It cost me $630 for the carpet job and headliner.
Earlier, I paid him $400 for the seat, visor and door pulls.
I don't think one grand is too bad for a complete interior. Especially for the quality I got.

The hard part is finding someone good. Luckily I have that guy. For now anyway. He's the best guy in town but he's in his 70s.

Starterman,
Your interior looks great. It looks very clean, very simple but plush. I hope mine comes out half as good. Congrats!

i like the middle door panel done in a color to match the seat! i think ill do that, since for some reason my middle door panels are a different shade of blue than the rest of my interior.

theres SO many options with seat covers for these bench seats its crazy. not just colors, but patterns too

i was also thinking of going a different direction and do a two tone seat that matches the turquise dash and the cherry wood steering wheel.... or turquiose and gray to match the headliner could look sweet?
