New shoes for the '69 project!
Sometimes when a project slows, I have to buy a toy for it to get myself excited and motivated again! My new wheels and tires:

The color is the original Med olive bc/cc. The wheels are Centerline Sahara 18x8 & 18x9.5. Tires are Nitto 255/45 and 295/45. The *$#!% tires cost more than the wheels!

Here's a pic of the engine ACES. I'll get a closeup of the wheels posted tomorrow for those who asked.

Why is the floor of the bed on without the sides? Is it easier to assemble with it already mounted to the frame. That is where I am with my truck right now. Also did you find a kit with the bolts (If they have them I can't find it) or did you have to buy a bunch at the local hardware store?

D Money, I disassembled the bed so I could get the paint on evenly. True, I will lose the factory spotwelds at the rear of the bed, but I'm not planning on hauling firewood with it. :p The bed is not bolted down yet, and I will have to slide it back a bit to assemble everything. For the bolts, I called Doc's house of bolts and ordered some kits (latches, hinges, etc) and all of the bolts for the bed. He didn't have a kit for steel floored beds, but I gave him the sizes and number that I needed. He said that he would probably offer that kit now. I got polished stainless, so they look great but it was a bit expensive.

Are the wheels 5 or 6 lug?

Bowtiefreak, I put a '71 rear in and converted to 5-lug discs up front. I did this because I was thinking torq-thrust or some other design with exposed lugs. Then I found these and they were a deal. I think they are available in 6 on 5.5, Mine are drilled with 10 holes, one set being 5 on 5.5.
