Nv3500 4x4 swap.
Hey all. I'm redoing my 77 k10, and am throwing around some ideas. It's getting a 52" swap for flex and comfort, as this will be my daily driver once I get it done. Which led me to ideas about rpm and highway speed and etc.
Anyway, I sourced a NV3500 4x4 trans, complete with pedals and all, for 500 bucks. Problem of course is the transfer case being driver side drop. Anyone put a 208 behind one of these? Or better yet a 205? (Afraid that will be too much weight maybe?) Overall it will be 4" lift on 35"s, and truthfully won't see abuse. My burnout days are over anymore truthfully and it's just not fun. Anyway with the .73 OD ratio thats around 2k rpm at 70, and the same rpm in 4th at 55 mph... perfect! So opinions? Insight? Thoughts? I have a 465-205 setup right now...

Re: Nv3500 4x4 swap.
The consensus is the NV3500 is too light to hang a NP205 off the back. The transfer case weighs more than the transmission.
You might be able to find a NP241 with a passenger side drop.

Re: Nv3500 4x4 swap.
I can live with 241, but didn't they call have electronic speedo's? That's why I was asking of the 208... hmm. Either way I plan on getting it because if not for me I have a use for it I'm sure lol

Re: Nv3500 4x4 swap.
Update none the less. Gonna go look at the trans today. Once I get it home, I'll take the t-case off and assess from there.

Uodate, I picked it up for 500, and got it home. T-case pedals and all included in the deal. Tomorrow will have pics, and I'll start to take it apart to see what spline the output is.

Re: Nv3500 4x4 swap.
Update. Nv3500 is 32 spline output, and my clutch kit from my 465 will work as well. Also only thing I need is a hydraulic thrown out bearing, and I'll be good. Now I just need a np208 or 241, and be good to go. After that I'll just have to adjust driveshafts and mount the shifters...
