Hedman Mid Length
Has anyone used the Hedman Husler mid-length LS swap headers on a squarebody?
I'm looking at header options and I don't want to spend $500+ to get headers and these look like a viable option. I am pretty low as well so I think these will help me keep my exhaust tucked away. Any other options for the lowered squarebody that keeps the collectors up in the frame rails?

Re: Hedman Mid Length
I used a set of Hooker streetrod shorties, on my 69 LS swap...Should also work on the square body trucks. painted , the headers were around $ 250, plus a set of stainless mandrel tubes ($90 through Speedway Motors). They tuck up tight, & will fit mechanical clutch linkage ....if you need to go that route. Longhorn

Re: Hedman Mid Length
If you're going to consider any shorty type header I'd just run ls3 manifolds. You should be able to find some for around $100 and just get them coated at your local shop.
Mine isn't a square body but you can see how tight they hug the block...

Re: Hedman Mid Length
I'm considering some pacesetter headers for 99-06 truck. I had a set of 99-06 Calspeed headers in my hand and they were very close to fitting

Re: Hedman Mid Length
I just purchased these exact headers to go on my 87 ls1 swap. I will let you know how they do once I get them in.

Re: Hedman Mid Length
I've got the Hedman 73-87 LS mid's in my '66. I trimmed my rail a small amount because unless I go with solid mounts or a motor plate, my junk torques itself just close enough to the rail to make me nervous. If your ok with 1/8th clearance, then thats not required.
