Water pump

This is my fist LS and I'm not familiar with how good these gaskets seal. I bought a GM water pump for this swap but you can see in the pictures, after I cleaned it up with a roloc disc there are pits in the block. Should I smear a little silicon on it or something else? That dang Dexcool is so corrosive. This thing will have green antifreeze when I get done.

Re: Water pump

No need for silicone. The rubber o rings will seal things right up.
