I have a 4 spd. hydra-matic, You will need this adaptor plate to mate an automatic. Benson Transmission adaptors has all the modern parts you need.

Re: swap to auto from std behind v6
some people are just like little sheep; one jumps over the cliff and the rest follow. Remember what I said about spending more time with the books at school., if you are going to correct someone you should be sure of the correction."hydramatic" is the trademark of an a/trans developed and manufactured by GM.

Re: swap to auto from std behind v6
Yep, she weighs in at about 110 pounds. And has 36 bolts to mate up to the flywheel. You need to have smallish hands to fit into the access plate (small square opening on top). The best part is you cant mount the flywheel wrong. The geniuses at GMC created a evenly balanced flywheel that you could mount to the crank.in any position. In addition to that, the flywheel is a solid casting.

looked at your link and here is the exert from it. some dumbo even spelled it it wrong there,"Hydro: Automatic transmission ( derived from the name Hydromatic, a GM transmission used in the 50's" GM made a Hydramatic trans. B & M made have called their adaption a hydro-stick but it was still using a Hydramatic trans by GM. it is a copyrighted name. I have also had 4 vehicles with hydamatics in them and also worked on them at my place of employment in the 60's ron |
