Which 350th tranny?
I want to put a 350th in my 66 with a 350sbc. I have a 350th with 9 inch tail shaft. Will this work okay or do I need to find one with the 6 inch tail shaft?
Thanks for your help! |

Re: Which 350th tranny?
I think the drive shaft is the same length from the 3 speed manual, powerglide, stock tranny as the 6 inch TH 350. so the 6 inch might be easier. But you should be able to use the 9 inch also.

Re: Which 350th tranny?
Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention that the truck came with a new driveshaft that measures 59 inches center to center of the u- joints. Would you know if this is the right length for the short tail? I really appreciate you help. Thanks again!

Re: Which 350th tranny?
measure from the front of the bellhousing to the rear of the tailshaft on your trk and then measure overall length of the TH 350. what tranny is in the trk now, and is the 350 motor in the trk now.

Re: Which 350th tranny?
I bought the truck as a roller, no engine or tranny. The guy I bought it from was selling it for someone else. He said the PO was planning on 350sbc with 350th. The tubular afremarket engine mount is bolted in and it came with a tubular tranny mount. And a new driveshaft. It is a project that someone started and then sold.
I have a 350sbc and a 350th with 9 inch tail. I will probably use these. Hopefully I can also use the drive shaft. |
