lowering a burb--static drop

when lowering a burb with springs do you use the standard truck lowering springs for trucks or the heavy duty ones from cpp. if you use truck springs how does it ride? aaaaaaaaaaand if you use the heavy duty ones does it seem like a better ride/ thanks

I used CPP regular truck springs and they were too light. The Sub never sat right. Tried a second set with the same result. Ended up using air bags. Nice ride and easy to adjust height.

I bought the CPP HD 4" drop springs but sadly I have not had the panel on the road. They are thicker than the original springs so my guess is a higher spring rate. Wish I had more input to offer.

Not to hijack the thread but I am also looking to static drop the back of my Burb. I also will be carrying about 300 pounds occasionally. I think I will end up with bags inside the coils. Does anyone have experience with this set up.

thanks i might look into putting bags on the back. Lucifer do you just have shrader valves?

Yes just schraders. Make sure you get compression fittings, The push together stuff is problematic I have several leaks with the push together stuff and no problems with the compression type.

We replaced the stock springs with CPP HD 4" drop spings...way too soft/low for our taste...would bottom out with one person on the rear bumper. We swapped out the CPP drop springs for some LMC, HD, progressive rate, 3/4T, springs...we like these better (stock, LMC, and CPP together in that order in the pic) Gives the burb the rake we were looking for and will handle people/loads much better.

I'd imagine that the heavier springs would cause it to sit a bit higher in back, but that becomes somewhat relative to what yours sat like initially, or what kind of load you are carrying. Our springs were wore out and the back is currently empty, so kinda apples to oranges...especially ours to yours.

For what its worth, this is a pic of how it currently sits with 2.5" drop spindles and a 1.25" drop block in back...

We're you able to mount the 3/4 ton Springs in the 1/2 ton cups?
