Spare tire mount on a 4x4: Am I doing it right?

I got bored this morning so I dug out the spare tire mount I purchased from the Classifieds last year and installed it. The installation was more straightforward than I feared, and I didn't miss on any of the holes I drilled into the bed side.

My concern is with the spacing of the wheel, or more to the point the lack of spacing. Does the side mounted tire contact any part of the fender or bed when installed, or should it be somewhat proud? I haven't purchased my spare tire yet, but I wonder if I should go to the trouble of installing longer studs and spacers.

Or am I overthinking this?

Mine fit fine but i have a newer rim and it may have different back spacing.

The tires were pretty skinny originally, but it looks like you got everything correct on it. If you go with an over-sized tire on that rim that balloons out much it will push the rim out further, but otherwise it should fit fine with the studs that were on them. Try one of your mounted wheels to see how it fits/looks.

I tried not to go too wide on the tires. I can try one of the already mounted wheel/tired. I ran out of time this morning. I have to get a matching tire for the spare wheel as it is.

Everything lines up nicely. Just enough room for a LT 235/75-R15 BFGoodrich.

Now I have to get used to this in the mirror.
