Sbc motor mounts

Sure hope this isn't a dumb question... But can you convert from the clam shell motor mounts to the pedestal style mount? My 57 has a second gen camaro sub frame

Re: Sbc motor mounts

I dont think so, but it depends on what you mean by clamshell and what you mean by pedestal. I think of clamshell as the three piece mount with the rubber either bonded or floating, and I think pedestal as the 1/2" diameter tube on a stand. If thats what you mean, no, because the rubber would be ancillary and it would be a solid mount, plus the tube of the pedestal mount isnt long enough for the clamshell.

but if you are describing a pedestal like this

you just need a couple mounts like this

I got the pedestal mounts from speedway but the rubber mounts from oreilleys for like 10 bucks.
