The original column was rusted out on the bottom and both bearings needed replacing. It was less expensive to replace it than it would have been to rebuild it. The column is a common short unit from "Ididit". I don't remember the part number, but told them what it was for and they had it on the shelf. It's the basic steel jacket that I polished and clear-coated. The wheel is the original painted body color. The horn button is an after market stock unit.
