Finally got an s10 t5 for my 235!
Well I waited and even got a Saginaw to hold me over until I found a good deal on a t5 from an s10. Bought a spare 235 from a guy and he was doing the s10 frame swap and sold his t5 to me for $100. It's supposedly from a 93 s10 but the tag was a 92 (1352211) and had the Chevy bell housing. The only bummer is that the speedo is electric but for $100 it was a steal compared to eBay $500 used t5s. 1st gear is a tad steep (3.8 I think) but I got the good overdrive .73. I'm happy just got to install it, shorten my driveshaft and check my angles. Just thought I'd give some hope to guys still looking for one.

Cool beans, a fair price on one.
Someone has one just like it on the local Craigslist for 200 with a V8 bellhousing with it but after paying all my bills and buying that Dodge Dakota I'm short on spending money until payday.

13-52-211 is from a 92. NWC 1993 had the WC type but not necessary with a 235. I got mine out of a pull yard for 125.00. I decided to freshen it up before I use it. I did a lot of research and decided I could tackle this myself. I looked at 65lugnutz T5 site, and I also watched 2 one hour long youtube videos that Paul Cangialosi put together. I also bought Paul's book which covers the T5. He sells a rebuild kit for the NWC T5 for about 150. You need access to a press but really requires very few tools to put in new bearings and synchro rings. I have never rebuilt a manual transmission before and was pretty intimidated when I started. With all the info available on the web and talking to Paul and 65lugnutz, I was able to get this tranny ready for my 235 |

Ya I tore into my Saginaw a few times so opening up the t5 shouldn't be too bad. I was a little nervous because when I took out the tranny the throw out bearing balls were all over the place. The input shaft didn't feel rough at all but you never know. Thanks for the comments.

One other thing, learned from years of experience. Use a pilot bushing and not a bearing. If a bearing fails it will destroy the input shaft, and with overdrive transmissions there's more force on the pilot than with a non-OD transmission.
