Got my door goodies and headlight bezels back from powder coating today. They charged 125$ for all in gloss black. I went ahead and did the guts on the inside of the door too including the side window tracks.

Re: 125$ well spent
Those wing windows are gonna look bad azz when done.
Powder coating is sweet when it doesn't have any chips or touch up work done. Meguires sells a plastic Polish that works awesome on pc even though it looks like you don't need any polishing done. it could make a terrific job look down rite aewsome.

Looks good! I'm interested in the longevity! I 'coat in my garage(not a pro by no means) but like to hear if the powder coat withstands the wear!

Re: 125$ well spent
I would think a powder coating business would be a nice one to be in.
The only reason I haven't had certain of my truck's brackets powder coated was the cost. |

Well i got them put together! Just some tips for those looking to redo theirs.
1. Tape is your friend if you are going to do them on your own, I did and it prevented scratches while installing rivets 2. When you install the rubbers on frame, lube them with glass cleaner and put the end over the top. Then start by pushing the corner of the rubber in first. A pair of small round nose body clamps and cardboard work good to pull the corner into place. 3. The rivets are a pita to install and dont squish as well as I would have liked with the punch but it worked. Its best to start on the bottom rivet and work up so the frame is still loose. It allows you to move it out of the way while squishing the rivets. The rivets are hard to get lined up because the rubber fits tight against the lip of the frame plus the holes are not centered and forces your punch against the rubber while squishing them. Dont worry about breaking the glass you only squish one with the glass in and it is the easiest one. Especially if you have a spare set of hands (I did not). I had a piece of large I beam I set the channel on to squish against but some 1/4 or 1/2 bar in a vice would work too. All in all took about 2 hrs total.
