67-68 hub caps
my kid picked me up a set of sweet 68 1/2 ton caps at a swap meet for $4.
he also got an extra 67 cap. i have three set of caps now an they are all the same except the extra 67 cap the kid got. it seems on the extra 67 cap that the bowtie is stamped differntly whats the deal with this one cap? its hard too see by the pics but the first and third caps are stamped the same the cap in the second pic is the odd ball?

i'm guessin the the differnt one is a early stamping since the others are stamped the same as a 68

I think you'd be right on the odd cap having raised areas in or at the Bow tie. Yes 67 has a early cap & its the one with raised up parts.

I wander if the 67 3/4 ton caps had a early and later version also. Also curious what dictates the different color patterns on the 67 caps. 68's seem to be a standard Argent and black. How's come when I come across nice caps I only set a set of 3 I got some awesome 69-72 ss 3/4 ton caps up at Carlisle for $2.00 but only 3. Been looking for that elusive 4th ever since.
