Yet another tire rim question..
I picked up a set of 16x6 steel rims today and wanted to ask everyones opinion on best tire size for the narrow rim. I am looking for a clean combination of tall and thick (not wide). I am mixed on the look of tall and narrow on a 4x4 suburban, I'd like to fill out the wheel wells a little bit without it looking silly.
I am thinking 255/85 16 or 33/10.5 16 unless you think its too wide for a 6" rim. Worst case scenario I can swap them out for a wider 6.5" rim.. or 285/75's? The tires on it now are 33/12.5 15's (which I dislike) and I have a set of Courser bias ply 7.50 16's (might be too narrow) I think I would like the narrow 7.5's on a stock truck but this thing is a bit of a beast and lends itself to a more aggressive tire. The rocker sits at 24" and the top of the fender opening is at 40" for comparison. thanks for your opinions..

Re: Yet another tire rim question..
here's a couple of pics of mine. 16x6 rim and 215/85/16 tires. perfect for 6" wide rim. A 235/85/16 would be a little taller and a little wider and fit the 6" rim also. Another pic of 10.50/15 on an 8" rim

Re: Yet another tire rim question..
THE 235s would be about 3/4" wider and 1-1/4" taller than the 215s

Re: Yet another tire rim question..
This website will help with comparing the different sizes. It gives the overall dimensions in inches. You will have to use the yellow size button at the top because the year tab only goes to 1990.
