two-rib rear carpet strip

This carpet strip came from a 1972 GMC Jimmy. It has peeling chrome and surface rust. No rust holes or bends. One visible small ding on one rib, last photo. It will be shipped in a PVC tube to keep it from bending in shipment.

$75 plus shipping or best offer.

Re: two-rib rear carpet strip

Would you be willing to do $50 shipped? Can you get a pic down the length of the strip to show any bending?

No, sorry $50 plus shipping is low as I will go. Just the pvc tube and packaging is going to cost near 20 bucks and that is included in the $50 price. I will have 2 trips into town to get the pvc then one back to mail. I will just scrap it if I can't make a few bucks.

Fair enough. Can you tell me the shipping to 73012?

And can you post the pics down the length of it?

Re: two-rib rear carpet strip

The plastic conduit for electrical wire is a little cheaper than PVC if you have access to it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I will take a better pic down the length tomorrow after work, but as I said in the original post, it has no bends. The only other part I ever shipped this dimension was about $25 for freight USPS and that was just a few months ago. I will figure that closer tomorrow evening too.

Hello Calgood, Here are some pics and what shipping will be. I don't have the PVC so I went off the dimensions and weight of a tailgate to hatch strip I sent a while back. Since you are closer the shipping will be cheaper at $19.27. If it goes over that I will eat it.

Now on the pics, the bottom lip that goes against the floor is a little "wavy", and there is a bit of a crease between the screw holes in the last pic, also on the downward lip. I'm not sure how to get a better pic down the length.

I guess I would caution you against buying this if you are after a perfect piece that can be restored to original show quality. I do feel it can be made nice enough for a clean daily driver type truck.

If you are still interested, the total would be $69.27 shipped, including paypal fees too.

Thanks,
DAC
