Where can I get new fender braces?

I've got a 78 short wide bed and it currently has two fender braces that are bent. It looks like there could possibly be a spot for 4 fender braces.

How many are there exactly, and where can I get new ones? I will get a picture in just a moment.

Only two, they can be straightened with a vice and hammer.

There are gravel shields on the rear of the wheel wells that act as braces.

I have used 5/16 rid heated and flattened, drilled and tapped. It's the stepside with 4 per fender

On my 81 short wide it is open behind the rear wheels, what should be there?

They come and go throughout the various model years.

They are basically a flat piece with some ribbing that closes out he area behind the wheels.

In looking through the pictures on my laptop it does not appear my '87 has them.

I recall that my dad added them to his '75 (maybe his '82?) at some point during his ownership.

I agree; I would try straightening those rather than buying new.

The flat piece with some ribbing is specific for 73-78 trucks. They made changes to the bed in 79 including a fuel door.

I'll look tomorrow if I can remember to, mine is a '78 and I don't think I have that piece, I do have the round fuel door like a typical pre 79 bed.

Hey Keith, what's the part number on that piece? I can't really read it on your image. Is the number same for both sides?

Re: Where can I get new fender braces?

It shows 00330490, but it also says it has been discontinued.

I keep a couple of used OEM sets in stock if you need one.
