A/C Cowl Flapper Spring
Has anyone found a source for these? Have searched all the forums and know what I'm looking for but just can't find a source. Someone said they found one that would work in Tru Value, no such luck for me.
Have searched every parts catalog that's out there, no luck there either. Looking at the pictures I've found here, it appears to be a 4" expansion spring. The factory assembly manual says it's a 40 inch pound pull force. I know what it looks like, I know the specs, I can't find one! AAAARRRRGGGGG! Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated! Re: A/C Cowl Flapper Spring
I bought a pack of springs from Lowes and then just kept shortening it until it would pull the flapper open from a closed position. Then made sure the vac chamber could overcome the spring to close it.
I just did it last weekend, but didn't take any pictures. (did the same for the vent door on the passenger side.)

Re: A/C Cowl Flapper Spring
Good data on narrowing the search! Does the passenger side kick panel flapper take the same spring (fix)?
It's off to Lowes I goes! Appreciate the "re-engineering" help! Sill don't understand why they're not out there from the vendors... B/R, Randy |

Re: A/C Cowl Flapper Spring
Not the same spring. The first picture below is an original cowl flapper spring that's on my truck. It is surprisingly strong. The second picture is shows the spring on the kick panel door. The last picture shows the cowl spring installed.
