I would personally go with a drop spindle in the front. It does not change anything in the suspension but where the centerline of the wheel is on the spindle. You can then use factory springs, shocks, ect. When I do mine I'm gonna use drop spindles and lowering blocks for the back. This way I don't have to worry about getting speical springs, shocks, and what not. Just my .02

Will you be doin it yourself? Also what is the cost? I looked at Early Classics, they have a 2/3 drop kit that is coil springs and shocks. Are you getting a kit or do you have to build the parts list? Thanks for the input.

This drop was done with 2.5" spindles from Early Classics. I also cut one coil. The rear is 4" springs. I haul a car trailer and a boat. I also replaced the front with a complete xmember from a 75 1/2 ton.
If you have any questions. Send me an e-mail. ------------------ 68 Chevy l/b, 4 whl disc in the foothills of No Calif

Something to consider. I just put a 2-4 drop on my buddies 66. Do to his old springs sagging, after putting in the new drop springs it only lowered the front 1/2" and the rear 2".

i talked to gmcpaul at carlisle about springs and he said the same thing.he recomended finding a restored truck like yours and measure from wheel opening to ground and comparing it to yours to check how much it's sagged befor buying springs sometimes a 2" drop spring will actually raise an old truck because it had sagged 3" from original height!
