I saw this on ebay - I'm not looking to do a conversion (yet), but am curious what you guys think.

That's close to the Design AZ Kicking makes that I have. I helped in some of the developement of the kit. Here is the problem that AZ kickin ran into with their kit. The spacers for the the adapto plate are a big time weak point. It alowed enough extra velverag to sheer the Grade 8 bolts. They upped to a higher tensile strength bolt and decided that was not enough. The added a peice that you weld to the axle tube to put the adaptor into double shear. Big improvement.

Otherwise the kit looks good. I like the brace they put to keep the flange tight.

Here is a write up I did. It will give you some tips on how to deal with the Bias problems your likely to have.

Looks like Mike got them. All the designs I have seen have spacer in them which makes them weak. Can anyone find a good setup for a 10 bolt?

Too bad that auction was only for the drawings.

Yep. I bought it. I have been looking at all the conversion kits that you can buy. The design in the drawings looked as good or better than any of the kits. So I said why not. It's only 20 bucks. I know there will be a lot more to it but I'm prepared for it. I plan on doing a lot of investigation on this. From what I have come up with so far, you need a brake booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve to do it the right way. I have found a place where I can get all three made for disc/disc brakes. From everything I've gathered, I can save several hundred dollars. I guess time will tell. One thing is for sure. It will be right or not at all.

someday i would liek to convert my rear drums to disc hopefully someone finds one that works before i do it

Mike - you must get everything down for all of us. You know how we anxiously await new projects from people. If you happen to make the brackets I would be willing to buy a set from you.

Oh, for sure I will make a set of brackets. I went in to this fully planning on doing a conversion. I will document what I have to do and buy. I've been in sort of a funk lately and have been looking for something to get me motivated to work on the truck. I think/hope this will be a fun project. I'll have to wait until my hand is back to normal but I'm already getting excited about it.
