Welcome to the forum, You will get different opinions on your plans so I will give mine. I like the idea of keeping the inline 6 most people don't. Some will say easiest way to update front end is to do a frame clip or swap from a modern car or truck. I would get an ifs kit from a vender to convert the stock frame . If you do a frame graft or swap you have a nightmare to get all the sheetmetal to fit with proper gaps. Then you need to make bumpers that fit and do what they are supposed to . As it is now everything fits if you buy something that fits your truck everything still fits. Saves a lot of engineering to adapt things . When it gets tough to get things to work some give up the project.
