Progress
Guess what! I actually made some progress on my truck! Since my rear u-bolt kit came in last week, yesterday I decided I might as well install my 4" Rancho lift kit. Everything went pretty well. Some of the new u-bolts needed a little physical persuasion to fit into the bracket holes. The front springs were pretty easy to change out. The bump stops looked like they might be a hassle, but weren't too difficult.
A few questions. To make sure the blocks in the rear were done right, does the skinny end of the block face the rear or the front? The guy that was helping me told me that the skinny end faces the rear. I don't think this is right, because I don't think the angle is good for the rear end. It looks like it just comes out straight to the front, whereas if the skinny end of the block were facing front, it would rotate the axle upward, so the rear end would have a better angle. I have never done this before so I'm not sure how it works. I just want to make sure it is done right before it goes down the road (a loooooooooong time away :p). Also, is it pretty easy to find a front u-bolt kit for a 77 4x4? I would guess that it would be. Some of the front u-bolts were missing and I am 2 short. I might as well get all new ones. Does GM sell them? If not, who does? I'll do some searching later. Then I just need some new shocks, and suspension will be done!

Most definetly face the wedge to the front, to keep the angle of the driveline correct.
