What's the "H" for in my VIN
On my 1964 C20 Truck I've got an "H" where I believe the assembly plant code should be. I can't find an "H" that signifies a build plant.

H = Oakland an assembly plant for GMC's? I own two Chevy 4x4's with the H in the assembly plant location on the Vin#. Can anyone explain this?

Re: What's the "H" for in my VIN
H is for Fremont Ca.
factorystock has a good write up about the change in 63 from Oakland to Fremont. Do a search on this site for the info.

Re: What's the "H" for in my VIN
looks to be a built Mid Sept 1963 If built in Fremont. when did they move to Fremont Plant? Is the frame number the same as the cab? I wonder if the used the H until the Moved to Fremont Than used the Z code but used the same numbering system Switching the H to the Z on the vin?
