VERY stupid question; does changing a cam change the acceleration sound?!

Well, if you have clicked on this I'm am sure you are aware of my stupidity...but I can really find an answer on the Internet! I got to learn somehow haha (sigh)
Does changing cams change the sound of acceleration noticeably?! I am going from a stock good wrench 350 and swapping in a 221/221 @50 275 duration. 501 lift 108 lsa cam with some new aluminum heads and stuff, and I wastill wondering if it will affect the acceleration sound! I currently have a weird sound when I'm not punching the gas real hard, it's almost like I'm shooting air out of my exhaust like a shpppppsppp sound... (which I guess I actually am lol, maybe because of low compression?) and I don't have that nice brrrrummm acceleration sound unless I hit the gas somewhat hard. I headman headers true duals dumped before axle with super 10s..I will go from a compression of around 8:1 or so to around 9:5...
Sorry for how dumb I am haha I'm a kid and didn't grow up with real men engines.

Absolutely. And, actually a few years back I had the ignition module on my suburban go out and I got a Napa one. Never did run quite right, so I picked up a GM module. I swear the tone of the exhaust changed when I put the factory module in
