I have a Boyd Welding tank in mine and like it. Reasonable price for a custom tank also.

Boyd tank here. The only issue i had was the connector crimps in the tank were not crimped all the way. Whoever did the wiring limp wristed the crimps. Double check them before installing. The tank is perfect though.

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

I bought a Blazer tank from Brothers, and cut a hole in the top for the drop in Holley pump.

https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...e/parts/12-130

I did a bunch of research and thinking and decided to give this setup a try and I really like it so far! Super easy to install, and almost zero pump noise!!!

I ran 3/8" Stainless lines down the frame rails for feed and return, and used -6AN stuff to plumb to the pump, and regulator.

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

I'm currently installing a 87 Jeep Wrangler tank. Inside I'm using a 87 Blazer sending unit, and a ep381 fuel pump. Surprisingly, everything fits without any modifications. Only modification to the truck is trimming one of the bed rails, cutting a hole for the filler, and removing the spare tire crossmember. The two downfalls I've found so far.....no tank baffles, and only 15 gallon fuel capacity. We will see as soon as it's running!

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

Well you have to notch the bottoms of the rails, and move the rear member towards the rear, but its cheap, it works and there are race pump upgrades ready available! 01-02 plastic f body tank! Oh and you have to use a hole saw for the filler to pass through the frame as well! Sorry I could not find any better pics but you get the idea!

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

I'm doing a LS swap in a 72 and am also trying to decide which tank to go with. The decision making is the toughest part on some of this stuff lol.
I really like the idea of the Boyd's so far.

Get a FI tank from Boyd Tanks. Also get the install kit, another $40 or so. Even I was able to get it installed with no problem.

I used an '87 suburban fuel tank, no cutting supports, no notching the frame...

I used one from a GTO and had the filler go through the bumper with a fold down tag.

repop blazer side fill tank, custom fitted blazer filler and in bed cover. time being inline pump in fuel rail with the vette regulator... soon to be going TANKS INC PA-4 in tank fuel pump due to annoying whine.

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

I had a blazer tank in mine originally and while it held more fuel than the Boyd tank it just sat to low. I didn't like how visible it was when you were standing behind the truck. I think if I would have had the Boyd tank powder coated black you wouldn't even know it was there.

I know the '87 tank is not custom, but it fits well between the frame. Best part is the price, about $200 total, including the sending unit and pump.

Re: Under bed fuel tank for ls swap and fuel system

I'm using a top fill LMC tank with a Walbro 255 inline pump and Corvette regulator on mine (I have an LS1 returnless fuel rail). It works really well for me

your link doesn't show or talk about your project being complete. do you have an update or pics of your work? I would love to see updated pics of how good it fits, or a completed project, etc..

Same here. The only problem i have is the tank is too pretty to hide under the bed.

I just ordered a Boyd's for my blazer. The good thing about them is they will put the filler anywhere you want.
