WTB stepside filler neck and hose
I'm losing my mind trying to fill my tank with the fleetside setup in there now. I have an 86 if it matters at all. Can't seem to find anyone making aftermarket parts either. Thanks in advance.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
No aftermarket parts for these at all. About 3 weeks ago I sold a nice one with the hoses.

Damn, i just missed out. I know you're big into parts. If you come across one please let me know. Also, is there any difference in the years, or are they the same year over year?

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
The ones with the gas doors are different than the ones with the exposed caps. Right now I only have one for exposed gas cap

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
Is your fender designed with the plastic cup around the filler neck or does the neck just screw to metal inside the door?

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
I honestly don't know. it's an '86 if that helps. The truck came with a setup for a fleetside that I have to contort to make work when I fill it. I can take a picture if that helps?

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
I know on fleetside trucks, an 86 would have the plastic surround. I just don't know if stepsides were the same way. Mid 1978 of so GM switched to gas doors on Stepsides and Fleetsides.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
Yeah I definitely have a gas door, but past that I'm not much help. I really wish someone would just make an aftermarket setup. These trucks are making a comeback in popularity so I'm sure there would be some demand for them.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
The rubber hoses are SUPER hard to find in good shape too. I don't know why they aren't reproduced.

If I could find a way to make this work, I'd buy it. I just don't want to waste money.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
This is what i did just a couple years ago
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=704049 If i recall. I had to cut one in half and add a piece of pipe to splice it. And twist it like 180 degrees. They both work great. If I’m not mistaken the 80s beds have plastic inserts. But i grafted my fuller necks to the plastic insert and they have been working with no issues. Good luck

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
If you are just wanting to put gas in it, you can buy hose for the neck at Napa. Don't know if that helps or not but just throwing that out there.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
Not sure if it helps any, but this is what I did on a black stepside I sold a couple years back. I recall I bought 2 sections of hose plus a bent tube, worked out ok. Wish I had more info 4 u.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
Hey Scott, how have you been? That may have been the stepside I wanted to buy from you but was a couple days late on. I'm going to look into a couple options and make a decision on what to do for this hose. It's really a pain trying to get the gas nozzle into the hose. Sometimes it takes a while.

Re: WTB stepside filler neck and hose
Good to hear. I've been driving my truck around for a little while now. It's running pretty good. I took it on a couple 50+ mile trips without any issues. I actually picked up a 5.3 out of an 06 van and I'll be doing a swap hopefully within a year or so. Maybe one of these days I'll swing by or we can meet up when the car shows start up.
