suspension ?????
Is the front suspension (crossmember ect...) the same from a mid to late 80's van the same as a pick-up? And would it work on my 70 2wd blazer? I can get the whole front end steering box, column, shaft, brakes. You name it, it's all there. Thanks for the info, Ed

i am no expert, but i doubt it. the swaybars dont swap from van to truck, the cross members probably wont either.

I'm going through this right now..
My new disc spindles from an 81 pickup supposedly came off a van in the first place..The upper control arm appears to be the same, but the lower has a few differences..Both have approx 18" centers betwixt the balljoint and pivot shaft, but the newer control arm has different bushings, much bigger rubber ones..The newer a-arms u-bolt right up to the old crossmember, but I'm still suspicious about the geometry , and I'll be checking it carefully when it's on.. The spindles should be fine, but your concern is balljoints..There appears to be larger balljoints on the newer arms, but this should'nt be a problem..Just make sure to get the proper ones to save yourself yet another trip to the parts store.. You'll find tons of info on this board regarding this issue, but I found that you really have to wade right in and start comparing the parts you actually have, as there is all kinds of "armchair" opinions of what fits what..And some of them are wrong.. With a little experimentation, pretty soon you will be one of those folks who actually know

Keep track of the parts you wind up using so you can reference replacements. Or so you can answer my questions if I ever have this prob.
