How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

87, 4x4, 350 tbi, th400 trans, 11.50 tires, red with new paint. Good stock interior. Power windows, locks tilt, dual tanks, etc. Looks very nice and is garage kept. It's a shortbed regular cab, has a intake and exhaust on it. I haven't had on of these trucks in awhile though. What are they worth now? Any ideas?

It probably depends on where you live. Up here in MT there are very few older tucks in decent condition. A truck like that would probably bring $5,000 to the right buyer.

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

I think to get a true value we would need to see good detailed pictures. Being a TBI and a shortbed it will command a premium...HOWEVER...in theis economy what onve was a $8000 truck is now a $5000 truck. It would have to be VERY nice to fetch that kind of money.

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

In my experience, mods don't add much to the value of a truck, so I would not add that to the value. A potential buyer must be one who shares the affection for the style of wheels, tires, etc. that the seller has chosen. Some mods are an indication that the owner likes to ride the truck hard, which contributes to the impression of an abused truck. Although this is a nice looking truck, the market for gas hogs is not good. Also, all old trucks need repairs, either now or in the not too distant future, so that lessens the value. As mentioned, $3-5K gets a nice, but not restored, square in AZ. IMO, spending $10K puts you in a range where a new truck makes more economic sense.

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

I sold this '87 2 years ago for $9000, but have to agree with the other comments that the "good old" days are gone now. The truck you're looking at now (along with the one I sold) are $5-6k tops in my opinion.

When asked this before I always replied: ' whatever someone is willing to pay", it depends on each person and vehicle. imo

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

at this point third gen (third gen?) c10s are in limbo, if its nice enough people will pay a boat load for it, but if its in rough shape the value of the name plate (gto chevelle camaro) wont intrinsically hold the value any and you just have a junky old truck

im trying to explain and i dont know if i am.

1964 gto in good shape 35-45k

1964 gto in bad shape 8-13k

1984 c10 in good shape (customized ect..) 8-12k maybe more

1984 c10 in bad shape free.99-2k

the value is based on the individual truck and its customization level and condition, not the fact that it is a chevy c10

now ive forgotten why im typing this i hope its on topic...

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

I think 8500 is a little bit steep but from what I see it don't seem like more then a truck worth more then in the 6k dollar range to me. It is clean and short box which brings more but I think you could find something nicer or newer for that much good luck

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

I had an 84 SWB 4x4 (non tbi) that was as clean as the red truck. It sold in Ohio on ebay for $5k 2 months ago. I would think the tbi would get a bit more.

Re: How much is a 87 silverado 4x4 worth?

Both of those '87 trucks are nice. Factory four wheel drive adds to the value. The top truck looks like it has a 12 inch wide wheel which is a bit wide for the tire mounted. I think the truck woul actually come up in value with a set of factory width Rallys on it or 15x10's like the second one . I say if you can afford it and you like it , then go for it . Maybe offer something less to see where he is but nice 87 four wheel drives command more money than equally equipped 81-86's just because of the TBI and available 350 . Those others came with 305's in the half tons.
Nice looking truck .

I have a 84 with a carb I just had it appraised and mine was worth 11.5 tho it has a door that has been crushed by a pickup trailer. So yours would be worth about 12 or more I would say
