Talk to me about lowering my 3/4 ton Suburban.
I have had my Suburban for a little over 4 years now.
I have already swapped a 6.0/4L80 into it last year. I have always had in the back of my mind that I would like to lower it and put a nice set of wheels on it. I never found a set of wheels I liked though, until now. I fell in love with the Detroit steel artillery wheel. It is not easy finding parts to lower a 3/4 ton Suburban, but after looking, Western Chassis looks like they can sell me spindles, coil springs, new rear leafs, and rear leaf shackles that will drop my Suburban about 5 1/2 inches in the front and 5 inches in the rear. The wheels are not available in 8 lug, so I would have to get adapters, which are going to be 2" thick. They offer different offsets so I should be able to overcome the extra 2" by getting the offset correct. I haven't decided on 22" or 20" wheels yet, and would like to get opinions on what wheel size would be best. I am worried that about 5" of drop on a 3/4 ton will not be that low and may sit only slightly lower than a stock 1/2 ton. does anyone have pics of a suburban with a 5" drop? any opinions or suggestions?

My opinion. I'd struggle doing anything to a ride that already looked spectacular like yours.

Yeah ditto that. Although I like the way Hummer wheels look on C20 Burbs. But never lower it or do anything to "un-beef" it. Great truck.

Re: Talk to me about lowering my 3/4 ton Suburban.
Thank you for the kind words!
You may have talked me out of wanting to lower it. After I weigh the pros/cons of lowering it, I may just keep it stock height and replace springs/bushings/shocks etc. with new parts. Before my lowering plans, I had intended to go with Chrome H2 Wheels with stock 8 lug chevy center caps. Although if I do that, I would like to convert the rear to disc brakes, and use Willwood calipers and drilled rotors all the way around. I think they would look great behind the H2 wheels.

I intend on dropping my 3/4 ton burb. But a mild drop.
As far as stock heights a 3/4 ton c is taller than a half ton k by a small amount

Do what you want. I wouldn't let these guys talk you out of it. I am thinking of doing it to a 3/4 ton I got recently. Here are some photoshops.I would go to a conversion spindle so you can chose from any five lug wheel and change rearend or get new axles.
