Long time reader. First time post.

Hi All,

First let me thank all the contributors. I have spent way too much time (wife's opinion) reading all the posts over the last year in preparation for my upcoming project. I finally located and acquired my project so thought I would sign up and get some advise. I will post elsewhere for this as I don't want to be scolded right off the bat for not following protocol. The basics: 1970 GMC Jimmy. Some rust, beyond ratty interior, no engine, poor auto trans (t400) conversion from original manual. Initial steps will be to just get her on the road again with a cheap drivetrain swap from a 99 suburban donor. Then rust. Then basic cosmetics. Then an LS engine in the distant future. 2 year plan I am guessing. I take my time. Thanks again for all the info. I am not a gearhead but have help and a dream.
