Single wall top - #of holes and spacing
I was wondering if someone with an unmodified/stock single wall top could measure the holes on top & bedside rails. It seems that the single wall top that came with my blazer project has 6 holes on each side of the top, which is one more than i would expect since a set of cage nuts is 10 (5 for each side). I would like to fill the unnecessary holes on the top of bedside before it gets paint to clean it up. Any help/pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Single wall top - #of holes and spacing
My 72 K5 has only four bolts per side,14" between the rear and the next one forward, and 14-3/4" between the next three.

Re: Single wall top - #of holes and spacing
You should have a chrome strip that the bolts go through with 5 holes. If you hook a tape on the quarter panel the first hole is apx 6 1/4, then 21 1/8 then 35 7/8 then 50 5/8 and 64 3/4. I have a quarter panel gap filler on top when the top is off that I hold down with the top bolt holes. Hope this helps, Tom

Great, thanks for the responses.
I don't have the metal strip. in fact i didn't have cage nuts ether for underside. I bought a set off the forum that just have the individual metal hold down brackets that sit on the inside of the top that the bolts go through. |
