I'd recommend sticking with the stock converter. What power that motor has is down low. Not knocking it at all as I have one sitting in the garage right now waiting on me to install it. Unless you're going to do other things to raise the power level in the upper rpm range, you won't like driving it with a loose converter. If you're going to drag race, sure, but I assume you'd have picked a different engine for that. I have a car with a 2800 stall in it. At the strip it's fun, but for normal driving, not so much.
