Yeah, I always thought a solid axle S10 would be cool. I've always had lifted 4wds with big tires but trying to ween myself off of that. Pretty much have, just like a slight lift.
All my this has layers and I left out one thing that contributes to arriving where I am with this. All this drivetrain stuff I had for my 67-72 4wd stash and that is down to the '72 K2500. I had a '71 short bed Stepside I was going to use the 1t stuff on. I had lift springs, wheels, and, tires ready to build it. Sold that and decided to use all that on the '72. As time has passed I have come to realize this '72 has survived pretty well as an original unrestored truck that has decent options, including being a Sierra. I'm never going to do any hard 4 wheeling in it the original drivetrain can't take. So, I decided keep it intact and if I want a big bad 4wd I could buy a later crapped out truck or chassis to use under an older body since nothing will be original anyway
