Ccp spindles
Anyone running CPP modular dropped spindles(CP30106-4) ? I am interested in using them on my 65 c10. I was told they would work on my 65 all I have to do is swap out my ball joints. Is That true ?

Re: Ccp spindles
That part number is for '73-'87. It's not just changing the ball joints, you also have to change your whole steering to that year series too or have to use the adapter tie rod sleeves and your stock outer as the inner and the later model outer.
If you're ordering these, just get the right year ones. If you are picking them up used, make sure the cost of changing ball joints and steering stuff doesn't cost you more than just buying the right ones to start with. As for using the modular spindles (of the correct year), I have used them on two '65 and a buddy used a set on his '68.

Re: Ccp spindles
I got these CPP modular spindles and caliper brackets from Summit. Using them with stock control arms on my 66 which is running discs from a 70's C10.

Re: Ccp spindles
Ccp is a pain to deal with. If you know the part numbers just order their stuff from summit, and get free shipping.

Re: Ccp spindles
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...isc+brake+swap I did what Chevy Mike was talking about, but using my stock control arms and steering. I pretty much had most of the parts laying around from when I swapped the whole front steering into my other truck and used drop spindles. I kept the stock height ones for a rainy day.
