65 GMC Coil Springs
Pretty simple question, my truck had the 305E in it but I'm switching to an iron headed 408/4L80E and that's a BBC. Should I swap out the coil springs for proper BB ones or will I be okay with the heavier duty 305E springs?

Re: 65 GMC Coil Springs
I am no expert but I would say you will be fine. Theres little differance in wait between a bbc and a 305 v6. then you are using a trans that is lighter than a 4 speed( if that's what it had to begine with)

Re: 65 GMC Coil Springs
From past experience I would say that your truck will sit higher in the front with the BBC versus the V6 if retaining the original springs.
