Best underdash A/C unit? tough to install?
I have a 1970 GMC pickup without stock A/C and was looking to install an underdash A/C unit. I got a quote through a friend of $1150 to install but he didn't give me the manufacturer. I think I can intall one myself but I just need some advice on the best and coldest unit available ( I live in Phoenix and summer is upon us). Thank you for any help you can give me, Lefty.

Check Arizona Mobile Air in Phoenix they have a slim unit that looks like it puts the controls close to the driver. I have been looking at it for a while. Don't know if they install or how well it works but it is close to you.

I installed a vintage air unit about a year and half ago.It was easy too install, just time consuming. It blows cold, even in the florida heat no problems. You do lose glovebox space though and it utilizes all your factory vents. It also smooths out the firewall under the hood. It looks pretty trick. There customer service is great. Highly reccommend. I don't remember how much I paid for it though.

the vintage air unit is not an underdash. It uses your factory a/c controlls. Hope this helps on your decision
