1972 Leaf Spring width?
I need to replace the leaf springs on my 72 4wd. PO had a crazy lift on it...lift springs up front WITH two inch blocks! and a two inch on top of a three inch set of lift blocks in the rear! tsk tsk
anyways, I am pulling the old lift springs from the front and want to go back to original height, but I am unsure of the width on the original springs. The current front springs are 2.5" wide, but the hangers, bushings and perches seem to be 3" wide. i have replaced the bushings already (before deciding to remove the lift springs) and noticed that they stick out of all of they eyes on the front leafs. They are Energy Suspension poly bushings. So, are the front leafs supposed to be 2.5" wide or 3" wide? all of the springs i can find for sale online are 2.5" wide. If they are to be 3" wide, any idea where i can find a set? Thanks a ton! |

Re: 1972 Leaf Spring width?
Your right, the front springs are 2.5" wide then tapper to 3" on the ends. I know companies like tuff country use a wide bushing to fill the gaps on the spring perches.

Going to do the same thing on my 71 Blazer. Pictures of yours as it proceeds would be great if possible, thanks.
