poly vs. rubber
I've read over and over and don't know what to do...
Should I use poly or rubber bushings for the front end and leaf spings??? I see arguements both ways over and over.... It's for an '89 suburban 2wd that I'm putting a 3" lift on and 32" tires. So, I don't need sports car handling... |

If you are replacing susp bushings, I would go Poly. for off road use, you may be better off to keep rubber BODY bushings. I swapped poly bushings under the cab on my Longhorn, & it is a firmer ride, but for street its ok(& the clutch works much better on the tilt front truck). the rear leaf spring bushings have been up graded to poly, & I could not feel a difference in ride. Good luck, crazyL

Don't use either one. At least not rubber or "polyurathane" because "poly" has very little flex and it will squeck like mad after a while.
What you want to use is "polygraphite", which is graphite impregnated polyurathane. It actually has graphite particles mixed in the polyurathane formula. This gives the bushing a bit more flex, and they self lubricate so they are quite too...
