Sending unit

Ive got a 59 and the sending unit quit working for the second time in 3 years. Is there a probable eletrical issue? Electrical is not my thing at all, but any suggestions where to look?

Re: Sending unit

disconnect the wire at the sending unit and see what the guage does. it should swing all the way to one end. then, if the wire is grounded, the guage should swing all the way to the other end. if that works properly then get a new sending unit. install it and live happily ever after, till next time.
