What If....
So in the past I've been wanting to build an 67-72 El Camino as if it were a Buick, or Pontiac, or Oldsmobile...
So... What if? Buick made a C10 (B10?), Pontiac (P10?)… Any ideas, or anyone every build a one-off custom C10 as if built by one of the other GM divisions? Figured with the creative minds on here someone might have done it already, or would want to take up the challenge. 69 Camaro Rallye Sport inspired C10... Any others? Found these today; Chevy C28... nice! Pontiac P10... what if?

Re: What If....
Thanks, good eye spotting this one. Pontiac Lemans nose Suburban.
Aside from the obvious fitment issues... it would work. I think if they went with a Catalina, Grand Prix, or one of the other larger cars front end the bumper to panel fit would be more manageable. And with the dual headlights you could always pull the inner 2 and turn it into ram air ducts like used on Musclecars in the 60's.

Re: What If....
I like both of your ideas. I can't find the picture I had of a gold SWB someone had done Pontiac touches on. My '67 GMC SWB has an M22 that traces to '65 Pontiac A-body. Before I knew that I had picked up a set of the Pontiac hubcaps used from mid-60s to erly-70s for the 8" wheels. Then I did a job for a guy that was going to let me haul his dad's old 65/66 full size Pontiacs away. That didn't work out, but I wanted to build one of the 389s and one was a 3spd, so there was my bellhousing, etc. I also have a Pontiac steering wheel for it. It has a 327 built and ready, but at some point I still would like to find a Pontiac engine for it. It wouldn't have Pontiac styling, more like Pontiac guts. The vibe I'd be after would be a '67 GMC (few V8s that 1st year for them) owned by a wrench at the Pontiac/GMC dealership that had all the goods available to him. A late-60s hot truck.
But, back to your dream of a Pontiac El Camino type custom. Are you familiar with the '68 prototype Pontiac Safari? I saw it at GM Carlisle ten or so years back and fell in love! This is no recent creation, still all original with low miles

Yes, seen pictures of it before, it was my original inspiration and would seem to be largely bolt-on / swap panels etc... Mechanicals; Eng/Tans, etc... to the owner preference, years back I had a tripower manifold but never got the engine/car to keep the dream alive... I've seen a really well done GrandNational Camino, an Olds 442 Camino, seems the 78-87 square bodies must share / closely align body panels making the swap a bit easier. The GTO Truck above looks to be the first I've seen a true truck based, not off the El Camino. Very cool!

This one looks fairly well done. I would've like it more if they followed the fender line and narrowed the hood so the headlight fender hood flowed better. Not bad at all though.

Re: What If....
I don't mean to hijack the thread or go to the darkside, but I just learned two weeks ago about the Mustero. Sounds like a dealer in Cali built about 50.
