73-87 stepside bed on 60-66 at the swap today
Hey everyone. Was at the pomona swap meet today and spotted a few interesting trucks. A 64 c20 on a 73-87 frame. It has the short step bed on it. I thought it looked decent and may try this on my 64. I also spotted a set of 6 lug rims from a newer silverado. I have the same set on my 2004. Thought these looked good also. Some good ideas if anyone is interested
Anyone have more pictures of this year bed on our 60-66 trucks? I've seen the 88-98 stepside beds and don't like them, but the 73-87 seem to look a little better |

Does anyone happen to have more pictures of this setup? A square body stepside bed on a 60-66?

I have a few more of this same truck. I was considering this for my 64 c10 longed that I converted to short. I do have the long bed bit guess am weary of turning it into a shortbed. These 73-87 stepside beds can be had for very cheap around here.

I want to put a 68 stepside on my 1980. Are the bed mounts in the same locations? Trying fmto find out before I buy the 68 bed.

But there is something about the rear wheel openings not matching the front ones! My Dad told me once - Just Because You Can Son Doesn't Mean You Should.

Re: 73-87 stepside bed on 60-66 at the swap today
I think it looks much better than the 90's beds people like to use, though they work decent on the 67-72 trucks admittedly.
I will admit that while I'm not a fan of the look I could see using it as a temp bed to get the truck together till you have $$ or find the correct bed.(maybe even just put correct fenders on that bed) Since you asked for more Pics here is the only one I happen to have with a 73+ bed installed, I was looking for inspiration on going Orange with white bumpers\grille or black. |

Re: 73-87 stepside bed on 60-66 at the swap today
I originally thought this stepside bed had some flaring done to the fender openings - which I thought nicely complimented the front and fleetside fender openings, but the owner said nothing had been done, it's just an optical illusion.
