Just a Factory Exhaust

I've looked all over the web and this site today for just a standard "factory style" replacement exhaust for my 1988 Suburban.

I can find everything but just a standard factory replacement.

Any help would be great,

Thanks,

There's a handful of stuff on https://www.rockauto.com. Mostly Walker parts. You'll have to get the pieces individually, they don't come in a set.

Re: Just a Factory Exhaust

Walker 66045 for a driver's side tailpipe.

Walker 21054 Quiet Flow SS muffler for factory like replacement.

This will get you from the muffler back. Factory type headpipes can be bought, but you could probably have an exhaust shop fab something up front that will flow 10x's better.

Pick up an inexpensive 3" I/O cat if needed, mine was $45 shipped on Amazon.

Re: Just a Factory Exhaust

Thanks Everyone!!

During my search "Suburban Exhaust System" on Google, eBay, this site, etc... found everything from headers, to manifolds, etc.. even the links to products on the Walker site, but nothing like the web-link SBTork provided (thank you sir) to the Walker site (some how missed it).

All exhaust parts are being order from the cat going back as we speak.

Thanks Again,

Re: Just a Factory Exhaust

Outlaw,

Yep. All it took was a visit to the Walker website for part numbers, and a few minutes on eBay to order the parts (went with what Walker showed on their website to make the install easy, from the Y pipe back instead of the low cost cat and different muffler) I like to keep things as original as possible and to bolt right up without mods.

After getting the parts (Cat, Muffler, Tailpipe and clamps), all it took was the following:

1. Zaw zaw with metal blade (remove old stuff)
2. 1/2 wrench (to remove hanger nuts at muffler)
3. 9/16 wrench (to tighten new 3" clamps)
4. Exhaust expander tool (to round out connections)
5. 30 minutes of my time.

There was no need for new donuts and studs at the manifolds since I had just replaced those in June when replacing the 700r4 transmission.

So, the total cost was about $275.00 for parts.

Has a nice sounds for these 55 yrs old ears!

Re: Just a Factory Exhaust

Nice! Got to love when it all just fits and works. For a reasonable price too.

Re: Just a Factory Exhaust

You bet man, I'm glad it worked out and was fairly inexpensive too! Win-win!
