1962 GMC Truck Nuts on the Interior Door
Hey guys!
Quick question, does anyone know if it is possible to find the interior nut plate that holds the door latch relay mechanism? There are three, but one of my old one fell out due to me messing with the bolt that goes through it, and I can't find it, I would like to weld on a new one. Thank you for the help! |

Yes, I do. I took pictures of the door with all three nut plates still in tact.

Re: 1962 GMC Truck Nuts on the Interior Door
I hope the pictures help. All I found was the following for a corvette:
https://www.corvettemods.com/C3-Corv...4_p_13469.html This provides a bit more info as to what I am looking for. Thank you. EDIT: I found this: https://www.classicindustries.com/pr...s/3784845.html I really haven't ran into this issue before, but would this work? Has anyone ran into a similar issue before? Thanks again guys! Last edited by Dzhezzi Kampos; 11-08-2018 at 12:10 PM. |

Re: 1962 GMC Truck Nuts on the Interior Door
1/4-20 Cage nut? - search for that name.
Mine look like they were pressed in and don't jiggle around like the arm rest cage nuts. I looked from behind also. An option would be a cage nut or a nutsert. Either one would modify the hole in the door panel slightly. https://www.mcmaster.com/cage-nuts (see Steel Snap-In Nuts at the end of the page). This guy had a similar problem - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...02&postcount=3 Nutserts: There are also the hand drawn units: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...sp?Product=655 Harbor freight sells a cheap set up - https://www.harborfreight.com/45-pie...-kit-1210.html

This place has all kinds of nut & bolt arrangements. They might have it.
