Motor mounts with 73-87 crossmember swap
Just wondering what guys have done with the motor mounts when using a 73-87 crossmember. I have the cross member all finished up and just had a quick look at the motor mount brackets that bolt to the crossmember and frame rail. It looks like they need to be spaced up pretty high on the 60 frame and might look pretty ugly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Motor mounts with 73-87 crossmember swap
Your 1960 frame is shorter then 63-66 frames. You can build your own motor mounts or buy some automatic motor mounts out of a 60-62 trucks. There been some on the forum for $250.00

Re: Motor mounts with 73-87 crossmember swap
The '67-'72 small block engine mount brackets fit the '60-'62 frames better since they are shorter. You may still need a 1/4" thick spacer on top of the frame.

Here is mine on 62 original crossmember.
Cut a couple notches out and took out the need for spacer. |
